SST Thermal Solutions Middle East (ME) FZE, a top-three global provider of electric heat tracing (EHT) systems, has successfully completed the supply of a comprehensive EHT solution for Malaysian Refining Company Sdn. Bhd. (MRCSB), a PETRONAS subsidiary and operator of what is now known as Melaka Energy Park — formerly the Melaka Refinery Complex.
Working in partnership with Thermseal Engineering, SST Thermal Solutions delivered an EHT system consisting of 10,000 meters of self-regulating heating cable, junction boxes and accessories for critical black oil pipelines at the facility. The energy park is one of Malaysia’s largest refining sites, processing crude oil into liquefied petroleum gas, gasoline, aviation fuel, diesel, and other petroleum products for domestic and international markets.
Melaka Energy Park plays a vital role in Malaysia’s energy security, meeting 60 percent of Peninsular Malaysia’s petroleum product demand with a daily production rate of 300,000 barrels. The facility is equipped with specialized processing units capable of handling various crude oil grades — from sweet crudes to heavier imported varieties — and includes the DELIMA plant, launched in 2021, which produces EURO-5 diesel with lower sulphur content and reduced emissions.
