3.Collection of personal data on Website and how it may be used (purpose)

When you access and use the Website, there are three ways we may collect information about you:

3.1 Data collection when visiting the Website

We collect information that is sent to us automatically when you access our Website.

Each time a web page is called, the web server merely automatically stores a so-called server log file, which e.g. contains the name of the requested file, the name of your internet service provider, your IP address, the browser type and the operating system you have used, the referrer URL (the website visited before), websites accessed by the user’s system through our website, the date and time of your visit, the amount of data transferred, the requesting provider (access data) and documents the retrieval.

We use these data to ensure the functionality of the Website, to optimize the Website, and to ensure the security of our information technology systems. In addition, we store and use these data for marketing purpose, see Clause 4 below.

3.2 Data collection by placing ‘cookies’ on your computer

We may obtain information about you by installing a ‘cookie’ on your computer.

Some of the cookies we use are deleted after the end of the browser session, i.e., after closing your browser (so-called session cookies). Other cookies remain on your device and allow us to recognize your browser the next time you visit it (persistent cookies). If cookies are set, they collect and process specific user information such as an IP address, the language, browser, operating system etc. used and location data.

The duration of cookies can be found in the overview in the cookie settings of your web browser. You can set your browser so that you are informed about the setting of cookies and individually decide on their acceptance or exclude the acceptance of cookies for specific cases or in general. Each browser differs in the way it manages the cookie settings. This is described in the Help Menu of each browser, which explains how to change your cookie settings. These can be found for the respective browser under the following links:

Internet Explorer™: support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/17442/windows-internet-explorer-delete-manage-cookies

Safari™: support.apple.com/guide/safari/manage-cookies-and-website-data-sfri11471/mac

Firefox™: support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/enable-and-disable-cookies-website-preferences

Opera™ : help.opera.com/en/latest/web-preferences/

Specifically, we use Google Analytics to track visitors to our Website.

We use session cookies to collect statistical information about the ways visitors use our sites – which pages they visit, which links they use and how long they stay on each page. We analyze this information (known as ‘clickstream data’) in statistical form to better understand our visitors’ interests and needs to improve the content and functionality of our sites.

We use persistent cookies. By assigning your computer a unique identifier, we are able to create a database of your previous choices and preferences, and in situations where these choices or preferences need to be collected again, they can be provided by us automatically, saving you time and effort.

If you do not wish to receive cookies, you may set your browser to reject cookies or to alert you when a cookie is placed on your computer. Although you are not required to accept cookies when you visit the Website, please note that some parts of this website may become inaccessible or not function properly if you disable or refuse cookies.

We use this information for the purposes for which you provide it. For example, if you provide your e-mail address when you ask a question, we use your e-mail address to respond to your request.

We may also use all the information we collect on our Website (see above Section 3.1-3.3) for various business purposes such as your registration as a new (potential) customer or partner, notifying you about changes in any of our policies, customer service, fraud prevention, market research, improving our products and services and providing you and your company with information and offers we believe may be of interest to you. We may also remove all the personally identifiable information and use the rest for historical, statistical, or scientific purposes.

We may use your contact and usage data to form a view on what we think you may want or need, or what may be of interest to you. This is how we decide which products, services and offers may be relevant for you (marketing). In addition, we make use of third party technology services including, amongst other things, cloud security systems. The use of these services may require your personal information to be held in the cloud on infrastructure managed by the relevant service provider.

We safeguard the above international transfers in the following manner:

Whenever we transfer your personal data out of the UAE, we ensure a similar degree of protection is afforded to it by ensuring at least one of the following safeguards is implemented:

  • We will only transfer your personal data to countries that have been deemed to provide an adequate level of protection for personal data.
  • Where we use certain service providers, we may use specific contracts which give personal data the same protection it has in the UAE.

Please contact us if you want further information on the specific mechanism used by us when transferring your personal data out of the UAE.

In addition, we base the legitimacy of the above listed international transfers on your consent. By accepting this Privacy Policy, you expressly consent to the above listed transfers of your personal data outside the UAE.

8. Data security

We have put in place appropriate security measures to prevent your personal data from being accidentally lost, used, or accessed in an unauthorised way, altered, or disclosed. In addition, we limit access to your personal data to those employees, agents, contractors and other third parties who have a business need to know. They will only process your personal data on our instructions and they are subject to a duty of confidentiality.

We have put in place procedures to deal with any suspected personal data breach and will notify you and any applicable regulator of a breach where we are legally required to do so.
